Hallelujah, praise the living God for another day to pray for you all and be used by Him. Today I offer this line from Thomas Brooks.
“The least sin set home upon the conscience, will more wound, vex, and oppress the soul, than all the temptations in the world can; therefore never yield to the least sin to be rid of the greatest temptation.”
1 Corinthians 10:13 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
13 No temptation has overtaken you except something common to mankind; and God is faithful, so He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus, Your servant praises and thanks You. We bless and praise Your name for all the wonderful things we experience everyday. Thank You for making life on this side of heaven a journey we do not need to take alone. We rejoice in following Your lead towards that beautiful and narrow gate. Help our eyes to see sin as You do so we can flee from the first sight of it creeping upon us. Give us soft hearts to feel the grief that our sins cause You and the strength to overcome the temptations. Remind us that feeding those sins will only make them grow and that the way to stomp them out is by starving them by choosing You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
If this prayer blessed you or brought you peace, please share this with someone in need.
