Chapter 3:13 through Chapter 3:19 Selection of the Twelve

  1. What is the main subject?  The choosing of the disciples
  2. Who are the main people? Jesus and those whom He Himself wanted – the twelve
  3. What does it say about Christ? He went up on the mountain and summoned the twelve
  4. What is the key or main verse?  v.13 And He *went up on the mountain and *summoned those whom He Himself wanted, and they came to Him.
  5. What is the central lesson?  Jesus calls (summons) us not the other way around.
  6. What are the main promises?  He could send them out to preach, 15 and to have authority to cast out the demons.
  7. What are the main commands? N/A
  8. What error should I avoid? Not answering His call on my life.
  9. What example is here?  They all came, perhaps this is an example of irresistible grace.
  10. What do I need most in this chapter to apply to my life today?  To come when called and stay where I am called to…Trust and obey!
