You Have Been Prayed For… PROVERBS 24:17-18

Hallelujah, praise the living God for another day to pray for you all and be used by Him. Today I offer this line from J. Vernon McGee.

“When you hear someone rejoicing over the trouble that another individual is having, you may be sure that you are listening to someone who is very proud.”

Proverbs 24:17-18
|New American Standard Bible 1995

17 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls,
And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles;
18 Or the Lord will see it and be displeased,
And turn His anger away from him.

Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus, Your servant praises and worships You.

Bless You, for teaching us compassion and sympathy for those who oppress and devise evil against us. It is so much better to love than to hate and to offer prayers for heart change in our enemies is easier on our souls than wishing them harm. While it is certainly not easy or even possible without Your Holy Spirit, we know it is the good and perfect way. Help the wicked ones turn from their evil ways. Help us to stay in prayer for them and our leaders who seem to be bent on doing harm or filling their pockets rather than doing Your will. Remind us of our own shortcomings when we think to look down on the sins of another. Help us to restore and rebuke in a spirit of humility and gentleness that we might display Jesus to those in need.

Father, we thank You that You have heard us. Amen in Jesus’ name and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
