Hallelujah, praise the living God for another day to pray for you all and be used by Him. Today I offer this line from R.C. Sproul.
“When we call things holy when they are not holy, we commit the sin of idolatry. We give to common things the respect, awe, worship, and adoration that belong only to God.”
1 Corinthians 10:14
New American Standard Bible 1995
14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus, Your servant praises and worships You. Bless Your supreme holiness that is unmatchable and so far beyond our comprehension. Praise and adoration belong solely to You. Help us to keep our eyes and hearts set upon Your glory and to refuse to give common things respect or worship that belongs only to You. Lead us away from temptations and idolatry as You continue the good work You began in us. Empower us to flee from anything that takes us away from You. Father, we thank You that You have heard us. Amen in Jesus’ name and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
