Hallelujah, praise the living God for another day to pray for you all and be used by Him. Today I offer this line from Charles H. Spurgeon.
“Mary was not praised for sitting still; but for her sitting at Jesus’ feet.”
Luke 10:38-42
New American Standard Bible 1995
38 Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; 42 but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus, Your servant praises and worships You. Bless You, for calling us to hear Your Word and sit at the holy feet of Jesus. Praise Your powerful grace that changes our hearts of stone to hearts that thirst after You. Help us to stay focused on You and not get distracted by the world, the flesh, or the lies from the enemy. Keep us in joyful anticipation for the promises You have made for those who love You. Guard our pastors, Your shepherds, from the lust of the flesh, and the eyes, and the pride of life. Encourage us and remind us to be praying for Your church and even our enemies as we are all in great need of Your mercies. Father, we thank You that You have heard us. Amen in Jesus’ name and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
If this prayer blessed you or brought you peace, please share this with someone in need.
