Hallelujah, praise the living God for another day to pray for you all and be used by Him. Today I offer this line from Philip Yancey.
“All too often the church holds up a mirror reflecting back the society around it, rather than a window revealing a different way.”
James 5:19-20
New American Standard Bible 1995
19 My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus, Your servant praises and worships You. Bless You, for using grace as a window to show us the path to Your heart. Thank You for Jesus and the riches of Your grace that do more than simply reflect our sickness and filth. Praise Your law that acts as a mirror to reveal our need for that grace and for the invitation You provide us to be co-heirs with Christ. Help us to show the window to our brothers with eyes to see and hearts to love the ways of Your grace. Guide us in using the mirror when appropriate with gentleness and compassion, knowing we too are far from perfect. Father, we thank You that You have heard us. Amen in Jesus’ name and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
If this prayer blessed you or brought you peace, please share this with someone in need.
