Hallelujah, praise the living God for another day to pray for you all and be used by Him. Today I offer these lines from William Gurnall.
“No temptation is so weak but is strong enough to foil a Christian that is napping in security. Samson asleep, and Delilah cuts his locks. Saul asleep, and his spear is taken away from his very side, and he never the wiser. Noah asleep, and his graceless son has a fit time to discover his father’s nakedness. Eutychus asleep, nods, and falls from the third loft and is taken up for dead. Thus, the Christian asleep in security may soon be surprised, so as to lose much of his spiritual strength.”
Matthew 26:40
New King James Version
40 Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour?
Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus, Your servant praises and worships You. Bless You, for forgiving our sin of slothfulness. Praise the power of Your love and the power of Jesus’ blood. Help us to be alert and watch in joyful anticipation of the second coming of our Savior. May our prayers bring us closer to You, our praises be a sweet aroma, and our works be edifying to our brother and glorify You. In Jesus’ name and in the power of the Holy Spirit, amen.
If this prayer blessed you or brought you peace, please share this with someone in need.
