Hallelujah, praise the living God for another day to pray for you all and be used by Him. Today I offer these lines from Christopher J.H. Wright.

“Human beings did not need the devil to teach us idolatry. Once we chose to reject the authority of the living God, we have ended up creating gods for ourselves, either within the created order or within the imaginations of our hearts. We are experts in doing so and the devil fosters and thrives on our expertise.”

²¹ For from within, out of the hearts of people, come the evil thoughts, acts of sexual immorality, thefts, murders, acts of adultery, ²² deeds of greed, wickedness, deceit, indecent behavior, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. ²³ All these evil things come from within and defile the person.”

Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus, Your servant praises and worships You.  Bless You, for being faithful when we are not, and for loving us when we are stuck in our sins. Thank You, for teaching us that we cannot point to the evil one when we sin, but we are more than capable of doing bad by ourselves. Praise You, for the grace that saves us from ourselves. In Jesus’ name and in the power of the Holy Spirit, amen.
