22 Samuel said,
“Does the Lord have as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
As in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than a sacrifice,
And to pay attention is better than the fat of rams.
Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus, Your servant praises and thanks You. Your grace is so overwhelming in how it leads to heart-felt obedience. While temptation and sin are crouching behind every door, help us to know and believe that it is finished. Remind us of Your victory so we can remain obedient and strong in the face of all that would cause us to stumble. In Jesus’ name, amen.

So simple yet so profound. I wonder if God facepalms when we claim “victory” instead of avoiding issues in the first place with obedience.
