Hallelujah, praise the living God for another day to pray for you all and be used by Him. Today I offer this line from Matthew Henry.
“Wise and good men, though they covet to do good, yet are far from coveting to have it talked about of when it is done; because it is God’s acceptance, not men’s applause, that they aim at.”
Colossians 3:17
New American Standard Bible
17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus, Your servant praises and thanks You. Bless You, for doing good works through us that expose Your glory and love for us. Protect us from seeking applause from men as we attempt to glorify You in all we do. Teach us humility and compassion and keep pride and conceit far from us. We desire to be good and wise men for Your glory and not our own. In Jesus’ name, amen.
If this prayer blessed you or brought you peace, please share this with someone in need.
Thank you for this Matthew. A great reminder of Who we serve. Such a blessing it is to serve someone with no one else knowing, then, point the glory to the Lord. Humility is a wonderful example of Christ Himself. Love you brother.
