Hallelujah, praise the living God for another day to pray for you all and be used by Him. Today I offer this question from Thomas Brooks.
“If you cannot endure words, how will you endure wounds?”
Proverbs 10:19 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
19 When there are many words, wrongdoing is unavoidable,
But one who restrains his lips is wise.
Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus, Your servant praises and thanks You. Bless You, for wisdom and understanding that leads to hope and healing. Help us to control our tongues Lord as this seems to be an overwhelming task without Your Holy Spirit. Guide our speech to always be delivered with love and covered with grace so we do not cause others to stumble. Show us how slowing down to think about using fewer words to make the bigger impact is more desirable than being long-winded in our rhetoric. Teach us to restrain our lips to show ourselves wise and obedient to Your Word. In Jesus’ name, amen.
If this prayer blessed you or brought you peace, please share this with someone in need.
I was praying yesterday that God would loosen my lips and your prayer is that God would restrain our lips. 😁
So true in both ways. May our God loosen our lips to speak his truth but I’m in full agreement with you as well my brother that God would grant us wisdom in being able to use fewer words for greater impact. Sometimes less is more. And grant us wisdom when to restrain our lips to. Thanks brother for the encouragement
