You Have Been Prayed For… 1 JOHN 5:21

Hallelujah, praise the living God for another day to pray for you all and be used by Him. Today I offer this line from Timothy Keller.

“If we are not willing to hurt our career in order to do God’s will, our job will become a counterfeit god.”

1 John 5:21 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

21 Little children, guard yourselves from idols.

Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus, Your servant praises and thanks You.  Bless You, for the many warnings against idolatry. Praise You, for the wisdom and understanding that leads us back to You and away from the unholy things of this world. Your servant thanks You for the careers given and the means to provide for ourselves and loved ones. Help us to see these careers as opportunities to serve and guide us in keeping You at the center of it all. Remind us of the command written by Paul to “rejoice always” so we can avoid the trapping of worshipping these careers as we continue in our walks with You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

If this prayer blessed you or brought you peace, please share this with someone in need.

  1. A beautiful reminder of where these blessings come from. Do we worship the creation, or the Creator? Never saw a rock heal a blind man! Love you brother, thank you.
