You Have Been Prayed For… EPHESIANS 5:15-17

Hallelujah, praise the living God for another day to pray for you all and be used by Him. Today I offer these lines from Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

Costly Grace
“We confess that, although our Church is orthodox as far as her doctrine of grace is concerned, we are no longer sure that we are members of a Church which follows its Lord. We must therefore attempt to recover a true understanding of the mutual relationship between grace and discipleship.  The issue can no longer be evaded. It is becoming clear every day that the most urgent problem besetting our Church is this: How can we live the Christian life in the modern world?”

Ephesians 5:15-17 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

15 Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, 16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil. 17 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

Abba, in the name of our Lord Jesus, Your servant praises You.  Bless Your will and wisdom.  Thank You for new days and opportunities to experience Your grace.  Help us to live out our belief with Your strength and boldness.  Help us to see how to best use our time today for Your glory.  Grant us wisdom in our walk with You.  Disciple us, Lord Jesus, in Your way and in Your time.  Protect us from all evil and keep us until You return.  In Jesus’ name, amen.

  1. We have learned in our recent studies that His grace is experienced through His Spirit’s leading. His will and wisdom are communicated to us and our prayers are communicated back to Him through His Spirit. What amount of grace could any of us measure that would be equal to personally receiving the very Spirit that raised Jesus from death? And He (the Spirit) is there always! Now that’s grace! And like you said brother, it is fresh every morning. Praise You and all glory to You Jesus! Hallelujah! Thank you Matthew.
