Hallelujah, praise the living God for another day to pray for you all and be used by Him. Lately, I have been wrestling with the ideas of free will. I am personally stuck on the definitions many offer as there is no consistency or agreement on the terms that are required: The terms I feel are needed in the discussion are Free Will, Choice, Sovereignty, Responsibility, moral agents, and are the thoughts we think our own. With what I can understand my heart is telling me it is not OR question as God knows all and could easily give humans the power to control outcomes AND know them before they take place. I certainly put no limits on the God who spoke the universe into existence. To help awaken the thought if you do not ponder it, here are some thoughts from Oswald.
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
We are not fundamentally free; external circumstances are not in our hands, they are in God’s hands, the one thing in which we are free is in our personal relationship to God. We are not responsible for the circumstances we are in, but we are responsible for the way we allow those circumstances to affect us; we can either allow them to get on top of us, or we can allow them to transform us into what God wants us to be. 1 Kings 3:9 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
9 So give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”
Abba, praise You for all wisdom. Thank You for this new day. Humble Your servant and direct this mind into all truth. Help us to understand Your greatness and glory. Grant us peace and the ability to lovingly accept whatever the truth is. Help Your servant to make good decisions or at the very least to think of them in healthy and positive ways. Your servant admits to a lack of understanding of how You operate but would like to think the love in this heart will be enough to continue to seek You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
