Hallelujah, praise the living God for another day to pray for you all and be used by Him. Today I ask that you consider this, from Gary Smalley & John Trent in their classic book The Blessing. If you have not read this, I strongly suggest it and recommend it.
“In a world awash with insecurity and in search of acceptance, we need biblical anchors to hold on to.”
“…unmet needs for personal acceptance can keep a person emotionally chained to his or her parents’ home, unable to genuinely cleave to another person in a lasting relationship. For this reason many couples never get off the ground in terms of marital intimacy.”
Genesis 2:23-24 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
23 The man said,
“This is now bone of my bones,
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”
24 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined (cleaved) to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
I know you have seen it. Many others have not. In our living room hangs a wall board that says, “Happiness is being married to your best friend.” Sheila and I are best friends. We desire to maintain that after 34 years of marriage. We believe that’s how God meant it to be. It is not easy, ask Sheila! But we desire it and maintain it, in His power. Thank you my brother. You and your family have also been and will continue to be prayed for.
