Hallelujah, praise the living God for another day to pray for you all and be used by Him. Today I ask that you consider this statement from Jeanne-Marie Bouvier de la Motte-Guyon (commonly known as Madame Guyon, 13 April 1648 – 9 June 1717)
“…your distress really springs from a secret root of pride. What you are experiencing is, in fact, a love of your own worth.”
Proverbs 11:2 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
2 When pride comes, then comes dishonor,
But with the humble is wisdom.
Abba, by the power of the Holy Spirit, through and by Your Son Jesus, Your servant prays. May it be that we praise You for this new and glorious day. For Your lovingkindness, mercy, and grace. Your servant thanks You for distress and trials as they expose the root of my pride and love of self. May You grant me wisdom today to Love you and others before myself. Lord, be my lamp and shine bright on the errors of my way so I may turn to Your Way. Heal us of the sickness of selfishness that places distance between us Your children and You, our good, good Abba. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
Someone told me in the past that I need to go from gripping the handlebars to open palms up asking Him to take control. That simple mind picture has served me well. I love this message Matthew. Thank you brother.
