Rooted Discipleship Prayer: Week 3 Day 3

Daily Devo

Assignment:  What was your understanding and relationship with the Holy Spirit up to this point? Last year (2019) I did a lot of reading on The Holy Spirit and from that, He became my best friend.   Always looking out for me, providing me wisdom and discernment, He is a better friend to me than I am myself.

What is it now?  The relationship only grows as I invest in it.  Like anything else,  I must be willing to give my time to something or someone to grow in it.  Be it a sport or a new friendship.  If one does not invest in learning more, the grow turns into decay.

How can you keep in step with the Holy Spirit?  Pray without ceasing, using the prayer of simplicity (if you do not know about this please ask me – I look forward to explaining), keeping my eyes on the heavenly places, read the Bible daily, renew my mind each morning with His word, and wait, listen, and hear His voice.   Praying for His help continuously.  And when facing troubles shouting – JESUS CONQUERS!!! – Thanks, Michelle!

In light of today’s reading, where do you want to invite the Holy Spirit to be present in your life?  Everywhere, I am not my own, so He who owns me has right to me.  I invite You Holy Spirit into my every thought, word, and action.

This weeks memory verse:

Ephesians 6:17-18 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,
