Another great morning to all of you, by the grace of our Lord Jesus. Love, it is simple but not easy. Straightforward, yet difficult to achieve. We do not seem to have an issue loving ourselves. I hear the objection of; “I do not love myself, don’t you see how much shame and guilt I hold on to.” But this is a form of self love in my eyes. If you’re focused on how much shame or guilt you have the focus is clearly on yourself and therefore not the promises of God. The command is to love others, and to love God. I do not recall the verse about loving ourselves. My trust is in Him and I believe if I love Him and others the rest will work out.
1 John 4:11 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
Abba, thank You for showing us how to love. I pray that we would be so filled with love for You and each other that it would be impossible to ignore. May You bless us with such love today that we could experience the reconciliation and repairing of damaged relationships. I pray for the opportunity to witness Your love to the world and share Your glory with all I encounter. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
Amen!

So well said although I recall a verse about loving oneself;
“For people will be lovers of themselves” 1 Tim. 3:2a. Obviously in a very negative light…lol. praise Jesus for His love for us!
