Gratitude day 4 is all about support and community. The journey is so much harder when you try to go it alone. I know this first hand as my default is to isolate and attempt to figure stuff out on my own…what a fantastic waste of time! It takes at least twice as long if not more to get where I am trying to go when I do it alone than when I ask for help. When alone you are only inside you own head, and that can be overwhelming and debilitating. Hearing a different voice, a helpful word, or kindness and encouragement is so huge. It helps me so much and I am extremely grateful for the support group and community in my life. That goes without saying family as they are the most supportive of all. Well I said it so it does not go without saying. I heard for the first time just this year a very helpful saying; when you ask for help what do you get? HELP.
It really is that simple. I choose to be grateful for all those who have helped me by simply supporting me in some way when I did not have enough strength to support myself. It is now my turn to pay that forward and help each and everything I am able.
