04/24/2017 – Week in Review

Powerful Podcasts:

  • Hidden Brain: Ep. 68: Schadenfacebook

Millions of people around the world use social media every day to stay in touch with friends and family. But ironically, studies have shown that people who spend more time on these sites feel more socially isolated than those who don’t. This week on Hidden Brain, we explore the psychological effects that social media has on us, and how FOMO — or, the fear of missing out — can lead to actually missing out.

This one is great!  I suggest giving it a listen with anyone who spends too much time on them or gets too emotional based on what is being posted.

Yes follow the passion, but your work doesn’t have to be your passion.  You can do the passion after work at home…guitar playing, podcasting, blogging…

“It is really hard to find your passion when you are constantly trying to fix yourself because you think you are broken.” – Christine Hassler

Overall the week was more stressful than the average, but found some really great information and achieved a good amount.

New idea

“Gathering of Greatness” or “The Meeting of Great Minds” I plan to bring in all the influences in my own life and place easy access to them and their ideas here.  Want to read without all the ads and interruptions?  That is my game plan, and I did not come to this idea organically.  I heard that is what Leo Babauta does and I like the format…the removal of ads and simplicity.
